1. Cover Letter research. do an internet search on cover letters (search for "how to write a cover letter," "cover letter tips," etc.
2. Find 3 CREDIBLE websites with SUBSTANTIVE advice on writing cover letters (you can even customizing the advice by finding sites related to specific careers of interest to you).
3. Post on you blog the links to the sites and a summary of the advice (hint: you may want to compare and contrast it to my advice on writing cover letters.
B>Myer's-Briggs personality test:
1. Scroll down to my January 3rd post for links.
2. Read about the test from the first link
3. Take the test with the second link. Also when you get the results, read about your personality, it's code, it's name, it's description, and possible careers for your personality.
4. for blog post, title your blog with the code and name of your personality.
5. For your blog entry write about how the code and personality matches up with your predictions and write 2 more paragraphs telling us what you think of the test and your experience with it.
C> Sharing blogs addresses
1. I will have a excel file open on one of the lab computers, type in your name and the url of your blog so we can distribute it to the class.
D> Homework for next week:
1. Write a "mock" cover letter for a real or imagined job opening you are qualified for at this time (internship, first position in chosen field, job you want to apply for now, etc.).
2. Read Chap 2 in "You Majored in What?" Find three quotes that resonate with you and write the quote and 1 paragraph reaction to it.
3. Start reading and commenting on other student's blog. (at least 3 comments per week).
